kiwi street studios {sisters}

there is something to be said for short little sessions.
how many times have i set out on one shoot or another and know that i only have 10…15…20 minutes tops
to capture a series of moments. it reminds me that goodness happens all the time, all around our lives and
connections can happen very quickly indeed.

meet another set of bright, beautiful and sweet sisters.
watching them laugh, giggle, engage and have fun made my day.
they don’t realize, yet, that all the little things they do ‘together’ are making up
the story of their ‘sisterhood.’
but i do.

hope and kate

love the way the wind dances in her hair
and those eyes…

serious to sassy in a flash…

the storyboard from their day…

sisters…the very best of friends for life

Lexi - Love it!!

a winter journey . piney green

here we are at week six in the ‘a winter journey project’
i have several ‘projects’ going on at the moment and i love them all!
i love trying to think way outside the norm on each and everyone of them.
no pressure, except the pressure i place on myself to push hard. no coasting allowed.
anyway, i hope i remember how to work when the time comes. for now, this is goodness.
week 6 . green and piney.
hmmm…i mean, when i think of green and piney, all i could think of was pine needles.
i did include them, but i stretched the category a tad. they are all green and have
a ‘stiffness’ to them. some are rounder and some are bigger. some are more broad
or spear shaped or curly. but they work, in my world.
i’m going with it.

marta - Love that you did these with the phone app! they look gorgeous and even more so that you stepped outside the box on “piney”

a little food . a little styling {just for fun}

one fine day, one phone conversation and two minds spinning turned into
three days later, an afternoon, two girls, a long table of props, fabrics,
colourful foods {nothing went to waste}, beautiful window light and our
own creative ideas. this is what happens when it’s winter and all of a sudden
there is time to work on some of the things you’re always talking about doing.
my most talented set stylist friend, nora, {you may remember her help with this shoot} is working on
putting her website together. i’ve been playing around with shooting food here and there and really
wanted to do more of it. perfect. something for each of us.
next time we just need to plan a longer afternoon.
can’t wait for our next play date.

we started inside and simple.
textures and colour.
i’m in love with the stack of the wooden plates that she found.

and i was fawning over these vintage dinner plates with the delicate marigold {such a happy colour} designs.

then we carried our basket outside for a few shots.
nora’s house reminds me of a summer cabin complete with
outbuildings, strung lights and…
green saw horses with a weathered top just for us to shoot on.
wow, thank you universe.

i love nora’s font door…the colours, the weathered striped awning..so happy and welcoming.
a perfect place to perch with a hot cup of french onion soup.
