the word ‘spirited’ kept coming to my mind as i processed this session. image after image just screamed this at me and i couldn’t help but smile, giggle and have a warm feeling inside as i relived the afternoon with lisa and allsion. the ties between this mother/daughter was so evident in the smallest of gestures to the all out laughter that made up our time together…
of which i completely and thoroughly enjoyed every . single . moment . of.
lisa, i knew i would love you from your very first email to me, but little did i know the extent of…your closet!!! (calling all stylists…i have a secret!)
seriously though, your authenticity and heart shines and i can so see why allsion is the grounded, intelligent and beautiful (both inside and out) woman that she is.
i hope that when you both look back at the images from your day together, you will always see the love, fun and friendship that was so obvious to me.
the barn…
they may look all city, but these gals got country souls.
lisa, your laugh is so…pass it forward;)
michael kors…the barn way.
off to the fields with two little dressed up country girls.
these girls love their shoes…
and allison, i thought you were the quieter one!
i had to…BIG TIME!
art.
we thought we were finished…and really, we were. but. walking back to the barn with the sun getting lower, the colours, the weathered wood showing all it’s patina,
the girls were sassier than ever…..
it was sooooo worth it.
see what i mean?!
and i’m not sure what this is, being the non-country girl that i am…all i know is that i loved its petal shape.
i had mentioned that this farm belonged to a childhood friend of lisa’s, nita, who had come back home to help care for her ailing mother. i was privileged to get a short glance into the lives of
lisa’s friends that day… the ease, love and comfort that only comes from lifetimes shared with one another was everywhere.
sadly, nita’s mother passed away the monday following our session there on her family farm. now, when i look at these images, i can sense her spirit in each and every inch of the photographs,
just adding to the amazing shining energy already present.
thank you for letting us adding more memories to this life.

lisabisa - Gina:
The “petal thingie” that you loved the shape of is the hay holder for the cows turned on it’s side. So if you ever see another one, you’ll be able to say “I know what that is!” … and I’m so glad you could share the farm with us and meet Nita. 🙂
Alli said to tell you she “loves loves loves” the pics!
